JOB TITLE: Senior Software Engineer

JOB DUTIES: Peloton Interactive, Inc. seeks senior member of engineering team responsible for development of software applications for Peloton's Android-based custom software system, which incorporates low latency video chat and live streaming technology. Will be responsible for improving, creating, developing and implementing applications on the custom Android-based system in a manner that is responsive to consumer needs.

Will develop a complex software applications ecosystem which can absorb massive increased capacity and scale, perform self updates, and display real time metrics. Peloton will rely on the person in this role to (1) design and develop new software applications, (ii) lead the work of programmers and engineers in developing and modifying the current Android platform architecture, (iii) lead software testing and validation, and (iv) make technical and experience-based assessments of the feasibility of developing applications in a manner that is compatible with time, design and capacity constraints.

Duties include: A. Develop new product features and applications on custom Android-based system (Analyze and assess feasibility of designing and developing new software applications within design and capacity constraints; Design and develop new software applications on Peloton Android platform in a manner that is compatible with the platform's architecture); B. Lead Android architecture discussion and evolve Android architecture (Work with engineers and programmers on the development, modification and improvement of Peloton's existing Android software platform architecture); C. Lead peer code review (Develop and direct testing and validation of software developed by Peloton software development team); D. Participate in product feature discussion and technical assessment of new product features (Assess new software application design based on understanding of consumer needs and technical design constraints).

The position is a senior-level role. The Senior Software Engineer will make strategic and high-level technical decisions regarding all phases of the product development lifecycle for software applications on a platform that has an existing user base.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Master's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field and 1 year experience working as Software Engineer or in a position involving similar duties and technical capabilities. Academic and/or work experience must include: assessment of feasibility of developing required application design within time and resource constraints and creation of project plan detailing timing and resource requirements; development of object oriented software applications on Android using Java (including Java concurrency library) and Android Software Development Kit; work with file versioning software (git or svn) and database management system software, including SQL; work with web technologies and Linux; work with development environment software, including Eclipse or Android Studio, and including Apache Maven or Gradle, on development and publication of Google Play application; development of unit testing for own code; analysis of business requirements and experience working with customer support teams to ascertain consumer needs.
