We are a 24-person team building a belief network for social good. We believe that:

• existing social media is “thin” — it is great for banter, but terrible for substantive communication;

• thin platforms are causing enormous frustration, but users have nowhere else online to go;

• no one will be surprised in 5 years when intelligent platforms have usurped thin social media; and

• there is a “dam ready to burst” of people who want to express themselves intelligently on social media, but are waiting for a platform with substance.

Our Culture

Building an In-House Engineering Team

We are transitioning from an outside software development agency who has helped us iterate through our MVP to a three-to-five-person, in-house software team based in New York, NY. We are looking for experienced software and QA engineers who align with our mission and cultural values, and who want to build a mass-market consumer product.

Requirements

• Work with other members of the engineering, product, and design teams to shape our software as we transition from MVP to v1.

• Help us scale to hundreds of millions of users over the coming years by implementing elegant solutions to remove bottlenecks, reduce technical debt, and help others integrate with our platform.

• Be a proponent of building the highest quality software with goals of 99.999% uptime, test-driven development, continuous integration and delivery, and architectural excellence.

• Push the organization to be “better”, meaning improvements to efficiency, velocity, and organizational effectiveness.

• Attract other quality development team members who are self-sufficient and work well in a small team environment.

• Experience writing and deploying code in agile environments with our technology stack.

• Bonus points for experience with React Native, Security, DevOps, and RESTful APIs.

• Computer Science degree with 5+ years of professional software development experience.
