About the role

Teampay is growing, and we want you to help us improve our monitoring, reliability, performance, and overall developer experience. This role will work with the rest of the infrastructure team to implement internal tools and processes to help drive improvements for our development teams. You will be a key piece in our growth as we scale our entire engineering organization. This role is a member of the infrastructure team that specializes in SRE concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help all engineers monitor their applications more effectively by using currently existing tools and seeking new tools to introduce to the company
• Improve reliability and performance of applications by monitoring metrics and adding more analytics capabilities to our platform and applications
• Enable applications to autoscale based on metrics from multiple sources
• Work with development teams to improve automated testing
• Work within the team and with other teams to improve overall system architecture
• Participate in root cause analysis of incidents and help drive changes that will keep us from having further incidents in the future
• Assist troubleshooting services during outages and help developers self-service troubleshoot in the future
• Pull request reviews for infrastructure team and development teams (when their work crosses into the infrastructure space)
• Document changes made and plans for future enhancement

Common Candidate Qualifications:

• FinTech and/or compliance/auditing experience (PCI, SOC2, HIPAA)
• Microservices architecture (REST, gRPC, separation of concerns)
• Kubernetes and other cloud-native technologies
• Serverless (Lamba, Knative, Kubeless, OpenWhisk)
• Application languages/frameworks (Python/Django/Flask/etc)
• Service meshes (Istio/Linkerd/Consul/etc)
• Experience implementing security best practices

Requirements

• 6 years of industry experience
• Experience with automation tools (cloudformation, terraform), containerization (docker, podman), cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (CircleCI, GitHub Actions, Drone, Argo, FluxCD/gotk, Tekton, etc)
