Meeting your future team:

Joining Collibra’s Site Reliability Engineering team:

  • You will work on solutions and approaches for the observability and scalability of Collibra’s production environment. By instrumenting code, establishing Service Level Objectives, and making telemetry available to a broad variety of consumers across the business through our Cloud Native Observability stack, you will help Collibra support data citizens to make their data meaningful.
  • You will be a part of a growing team of engineers with cross-functional expertise in DevOps, software development, and performance engineering driving meaningful change within the Operations and Excellence organization.
  • Site Reliability Engineers deliver value by building and delivering tools that enable a consistent approach to observability and scalability and work to advocate for sound reliability practices within our Engineering community.

Site Reliability Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Building and supporting Collibra’s observability tooling, including our telemetry backbone ensuring the availability and performance of this mission critical infrastructure.
  • Instrumenting code to improve observability within our applications to improve issue response and remediation times and better serve our customers.
  • Advocating for sound reliability practices within our Engineering community to improve the overall maturity of our reliability practices.
  • Responding to issues and incidents with production systems and supporting our Operations team members to understand and remediate problems in production.
  • Collaborating with members of our performance engineering team to build predictive capabilities into our team’s approach.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience developing or running scalable Java-based applications.
  • 3+ years of experience running workloads on a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience with common observability tools - Grafana, OpenTelemetry, DataDog, Prometheus, the Elastic Observability stack or similar.

Measuring Success:

  • Reporting to Collibra’s Sr. Director of Site Reliability Engineering, Site Reliability Engineer's measures of success are:

    • Within your first month, you will gain an understanding of the Collibra application ecosystem, our personas and the most common user workflows associated with them.
    • Within your third month, you will be an active member of our scrum team, and be comfortable with the SRE team’s tooling and be able to explore improvements to the observability instrumentation in our products.
    • Within your sixth month, you will be actively developing improvements for the SRE team’s tooling and product instrumentation, responding to issues and incidents in production and partnering with Engineers in other teams to drive the company’s goals forward.
