In this role you will:

• Define, design, and build a data analytics platform and backend systems using cutting-edge technologies like Elastic Search, Kafka, Cassandra, etc. 
• Build services with external-facing real-time APIs at an internet-scale to power conversational commerce and customer intelligence with state-of-the-art NLU and ML-based analytics.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, technical leaders, and product managers across LivePerson - with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
• Work with one of the world’s largest goal-oriented conversational data sets to push the boundaries of computational linguistics and drive innovative new products at scale
• Build high-performance, scalable and robust systems in a complex, multi-tiered, distributed environment.
• Establish and execute a short-term and long-term architectural roadmap for the business.
• Solve hard engineering problems around large-scale data processing and computation.
• Drive continual improvements to the efficiency and flexibility of the business platform while keeping an extremely high bar for customer trust, performance, and availability.

Your qualifications are:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 8+ years experience building successful production software systems
• Solid understanding of Data Structures and Algorithm Design
• Expert level knowledge in a popular JVM language such as Java, Scala, Kotlin etc. is required.  Experience working with Kotlin is a plus.
• Python or Node.js experience is a plus.
• Good working knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases like Elasticsearch, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, etc
• Experience with Service Oriented Architectures, HTTP REST, Stream Processing
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience with stream processing systems and event sourcing, knowledge of stream processing frameworks (Kafka Streams, Apache Flink, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with GCP is a plus.
