Software Development Engineer in Test
SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we're simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry.
By catering to both consumers and enterprises, we're powering a new, open entertainment ecosystem where fans have effortless access to experiences, and teams, venues, and shows have seamless access to their audiences. Because everyone should expect more from ticketing.
We're looking for our very first SDET at SeatGeek - someone with the experience and ability to build out a world-class testing infrastructure, automation suite, and QA strategy across the company from the ground up; helping our web and mobile teams with our day-to-day testing needs while also laying the foundation for a testing strategy that will continue to grow with the ambitions and scale of our products.
This is a cross-functional and collaborative role. We believe it's every team member's responsibility to produce high-quality products, and we obsess over building a superior user experience. As the founding member of our SDET practice, we're looking for someone to leverage that enthusiasm and work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers across all of our teams to help establish our testing infrastructure and reporting mechanisms across our native mobile and web products. You'll also spend time with our leadership team, working on initiatives that reach across teams, and impact the entire organization.
What you'll do
- Determine the tooling, infrastructure, and testing approaches SeatGeek should employ for our native mobile and web products today, with an eye towards a world with larger teams and many more engineers.
- Identify gaps in our testing philosophy and embed on teams to level up our engineering culture
- Own and champion our testing ecosystem - everything from our test coverage philosophy to the infrastructure our end-to-end tests run on
- Manage and scale systems and tools for mobile CI and releases
- Work with engineering leadership to design and shape our long-term quality and testing strategy
Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in software development, especially in architecting and implementing test solutions and frameworks for complex native mobile or web applications
- Proficient in at least one modern programming language and comfort with several others
- Hands on experience with Automation frameworks such as XCUI, Espresso, Cypress
- Experience with test frameworks, automation tools, static and dynamic code analysis
- Experience with test management tools such as X-ray or Zephyr
- Experience with CI systems, like Jenkins, to create builds
- Commitment to your teammates. You enjoy working with a diverse group of people with different experiences and take pride in mentoring and contributing to the growth and success of other members of the team
