Your responsibilities as Software Engineer in the BI and Reporting Domain

  • Provide reports, analysis and build dashboards upon request.
  • Monitor and maintain existing reports and dashboards with emphasis on surfacing new business insights that could drive improved company performance.
  • Perform business analysis on each request, identify and implement new ways to run reports using modern technology; train users to generate self-service reports when applicable and retire older report technology.
  • Develop new Cognos reports using SQL.
  • Modify ETL (using MS SQL) to support the data feed to PowerBI and Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW).
  • Other duties, as assigned.

 

Qualified candidates will have:

  • A bachelor’s degree with focus on information systems, computer science or a related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience working with large data sets to extract and surface actionable findings.
  • Proficient with business intelligence systems such as Power BI, Tableau or Business Object.
  • High level of proficiency with MS SQL required.
  • Experience with Cognos, Salesforce and NetSuite highly preferred.
  • Curiosity about how data can support various business functions with the ability to identify the most efficient ways to extract and report data.
  • Strong business analysis skills with the ability to understand the business problems to solve and translate into detail technical requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees across all levels and functions within a company.
  • Ability to analyze and present complex information from multiple data sources concisely.
