-2+ years of professional software development in a team environment.
-Comfortable living behind a *nix terminal.
-Backend API development experience preferred.
-Functional programming a plus, frontend experience a plus.
-Python, {Java, C++, Javascript}, REST/XML APIs, Git, Linux, SQL.
-Strong Communicator.

What's something quirky about your company?

We try not to take ourselves too seriously while also maintaining a strong work ethic to inspire one another at Young Alfred. A quirky, yet useful tool we use to ensure we’re locked in and focused on the tasks at hand are our handy sound-proof earmuffs - used to signal “I am in the zone. Do not disturb”. Might look silly, but we’re laser-focused!

How do you collaborate with other teams in the company?

In just three short months and 100 shared-memes later, I felt my 'colleagues' had all of a sudden become my teammates/family. This is most evident in our company-wide motivational meetings and casual feedback conversations between teams. I am able to communicate freely and honestly, knowing everyone has the firm's and my best interest at heart!

You have to be fearless and hungry. Know when to ask the right questions and take initiative when the opportunity arises. A successful individual on my team has two solutions for each problem and understands the value of continuously improving their process.
