Meeting your future team:

  • You will be a member of a team whose purpose is to implement automated Lineage scanners and present the result via interactive Lineage diagrams.
  • Your role will specifically aim at the SQL language processing and backend orchestration of other scanners.
  • Your work will have a positive impact on companies and developers maintaining a legacy codebase or 3rd party solutions as we replace manual Lineage tracing by an automated reverse-engineering process.
  • Customer value proposition and motto of the Lineage team is “We need 10 minutes to document 10 years of your development”.

Software Engineers's (Scala) at Collibra are responsible for:

  • Implementing parsers and analysers for various SQL dialects (and other formal languages in the future)
  • Maintaining other Scala backend components used for backend orchestration and lineage harvesting
  • Optimizing performance and participating in architectural design
  • Cooperation with internal and external stakeholders and teams to create a well integrated and customer-friendly product
  • Troubleshooting complex lineage processing pipelines

You Have:

  • Experience in building scalable software applications
  • Experience with functional Scala or experience with any other functional (e.g. Haskell) or JVM (e.g. Java, Kotlin etc.) language and strong willingness to quickly adopt functional Scala
  • Experience with functional Scala libraries (especially ZIO), Akka, Docker and cloud-native technologies is most welcome
  • Prior experience or theoretical knowledge regarding parsers and compilers will also be a plus
  •

Measuring Success:

  • Within your first month, you will implement and deploy your first code change with direct impact on Collibra customers.
  • Within your third month, you will be able to contribute to all software components maintained by the team.
  • Within your sixth month, you will be an independent developer capable of driving the change.
