The Opportunity:
GIPHY.com receives 200M unique visitors per month, our mobile products have millions of users and our API is integrated into some of the biggest digital platforms in the world. We operate at scale.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to help operate and improve our systems so we can provide the best, most relevant content in real time. The Content Engineering team at GIPHY is responsible for ingesting, processing and delivering content in a variety of formats, including GIF, MP4, and WEP.
Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and upgrade systems for content ingestion, analysis and delivery
- Conduct load testing and performance tuning of existing systems
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of experience in Python, preferably with Django
- Proven experience on large scale production systems, especially Data pipelines
- Experience with Kafka or similar tool
- Working Knowledge of MySql or other relational database
- Experience working with large files, preferably media files
- Experience with AWS or other cloud provider
- Deep knowledge of some programming language (Java, C++, C#, etc)
- Experience working in an agile environment with Rest, Microservices, and continuous integration
- Experience with Scala, Akka, Apache Spark, ElasticSearch, FFMPEG, DynamoDB, Kubernetes or Docker a plus
