MedArrive is a tech and healthcare services business that enables EMS providers (EMTs and paramedics) to provide care in non-traditional settings under physicians' oversight. The primary use case is care in the home, e.g., ongoing chronic condition monitoring for a homebound patient by an EMS provider under an EMS professional's oversight of a physician or urgent care response. Our company partners with EMS agencies to leverage their excess capacity on the labor supply side, health systems to gain access to overseeing physicians and payers to set up reimbursement pathways for these services.

We are a fast-growing start-up looking for a senior & creative technical leader who has new product and scaling experience with preferably a background in the healthcare or consumer industries. 

As our Backend Engineer, you will work on a small, independent software team, building infrastructure and integration projects in a self-directed fashion.  Your goal is to help create a platform for in-home medical support in a complex, multi-stakeholder industry.

In this role, you will help shape the product and collaborate with the entire company in a dynamic startup environment.

You will report to and work with the Lead Engineer and this is a 100% remote role within the US. 

What you'll do:

  • Develop a robust mobile medical services platform
    • Partner with our existing engineering team to develop new features
    • Work with a fast, modern tech stack.  Not legacy code.
    • Write stable, testable, and auditable code
  • Integrate with existing medical systems
    • Learn industry-standard interoperability frameworks and APIs.
    • Take API integrations through the whole develop, test, and release lifecycle
  • Create seamless user experiences across multiple platforms
    • Support a wide variety of use cases across patients, mobile providers, hospital staff, and more.
    • Streamline care for those who need it most.
  • Work on high-impact projects that will go directly into the hands of users
    • Determine the best way to solve the problems at hand.
    • Touch many different parts of the tech stack, and move between different systems.

What you'll need:

  • Background
    • 3+ years of experience with backend programming
    • 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
    • 2+ years of experience with Javascript
    • 2+ years of experience working at a fast-paced, high-growth startup  
    • Experience with API Integration
    • Systems design and architecture is a plus
    • Healthcare experience is a plus
