Seeking Software QA Engineer to Support Luxury Automotive Solutions

Position to be stationed in Montvale, NJ, working closely with colleagues in NJ and Germany.

Who You Are: Software QA Engineer to design and build out our automated testing capabilities. You will work collaboratively with a team of Software Developers and Project Managers to ensure that best practices are clearly defined and followed across all teams. When in front of a screen, you’re a sleuth when it comes to finding and resolving bugs. You’re proactive at heart, and not afraid to take initiative.

What you Bring to the Team:

• Thorough understanding of the STLC and SQA methodology.
• Working knowledge of mobile application testing.
• Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript.
• Proficiency with databases such as SQL and MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with testing tools like Selenium, TestNG, etc.
• Ability to use critical thinking and sound judgement.
• Working knowledge of industry trends and technologies.
• Attention to detail and top-notch organizational skills.
• Great communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.

Within Your First Month, You’ll:

• Learn about Sulzer US, our business model and product and service offerings.
• Ramp up on our technology stack through peer-led trainings sessions.
• Start to take over project work by collaborating with the QA and Development Teams.
• Write internal documentation for your work so teams are looped in on the latest updates.
• Contribute ideas, ask questions, and raise concerns when encountering challenges.

Within 3 Months, You’ll:

• Feel more comfortable navigating our tech stack and continuously leverage your team members to help fill in any gaps of understanding.
• Participate and contribute to various project and L1 status meetings to discuss project performance including ticket status and problem identification.
• Work with the development team and business users to perform QA testing based on documented business requirements.
• Conduct quality testing sessions to identify and report possible technical problems, document and analyze bugs inside the software code.

Within 6 Months, You’ll:

• Work collaboratively with your manager to identify areas for personal growth and create a plan to improve.
• Design, implement and run automated/manual/regression test cases, load tests, and scripts.
• Respond to inquiries from users and technical support regarding functions and operations of software programs.

Within Your First Year, You’ll:

• Create trusting relationships with our clients establishing Sulzer US as a main point of contact.
• Exhibit a strong understanding of all aspects the systems that you work on.
• Collaborate with developers and project managers to define priorities and set delivery goals.
• Proactively provide and implement recommendations to improve the quality and stability of our applications.
• Train new team members on Sulzer US best practices.
• Contribute to Sulzer US’ continuous improvement initiative by bringing fresh ideas and the energy to bring our team to the next level.

3. If your skills meet the position requirements, you will receive a link to complete a Codility Test. Here we will assess your technical and problem solving skills. Once submitted, a technical team member will grade and rank your test.

5. Virtual Technical Interview using Codility or Microsoft Teams in order to dive deep into your technical and problem solving skills.
6. Final Interview, either video or in-person, to enable our leaders to get to know you and give you the opportunity to share all your burning questions about Sulzer US, our culture, and your desired role.
