Governance:

  • You will work on solutions that help organizations to create a consistent and proper handling of their data. Governance provides all data management practices with the necessary foundation, strategy and structure needed to ensure that data is managed as an asset and transformed into meaningful information.
  • The focus of the team is on increasing productivity of our customers by simplifying the user experience and providing tools to help them get their Governance organized.

 Shop4Data:

  • You are embarking on a journey that will transform how business analysts collect the data they need. We’re building an online shop where you can get all the data from your organization, taking into account all the relationships, dependencies, privacy. Our mission is to allow Data Citizens to find and get the right data within seconds. 
  • You’ll be a part of a quickly growing and talented team of engineers tasked with this important work using Agile methodologies.
  • You will be part of the Scrum development team, using Elasticsearch and Java stack as the main technologies to develop our SaaS product

 Catalog:

  • You will work on solutions which help inventory and organize all of an organization’s data assets. A data catalog uses metadata to help data professionals discover, understand, trust and manage their data for governance or business purposes. 
  • The focus of the team is on increasing productivity by automating the manual tasks of sorting, classifying and organizing data assets and also enriching data in the catalog by adding business context at scale.  

Sr Backend Engineers at Collibra are responsible for:

You’ll be building exciting new features for the Collibra products, together with your team members (fellow engineers, QA, PMs, Architects, UX, Cloud, SRE, etc). This means that you’ll have the following responsibilities:

  • Formulate and suggest new ideas and features to the team to further improve our products
  • Discuss technical solutions with other engineers and the architecture team where and when necessary
  • Track progress while keeping a fully working product at all times
  • Implement the new functionalities with a passion for quality
  • Review the code changes from your peers before they go into the main line in Git
  • Interact closely with the QA engineers to ensure a TDD approach
  • Report on your progress by updating the status of the Jira issues
  • Demo fully finished parts to your team, and demo your work to the entire development and product teams
  • Celebrate your successes!

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in building scalable software applications using Java, or 5+ years of experience and a Master
  • Solid experience with Relational Databases (preferably PostgresQL)
  • Solid skills with Spring framework
  • You are comfortable working fully in English - we're a global team, and it's the language we share!
  • Preferred: Cluster Management Frameworks (e.g., Spark), Kafka, ElasticSearch, Docker, Kubernetes, database models, build-and-test tools

Reporting to an Engineering Manager measures of success are: 

  • Within your first month, you will get an understanding of tools and processes used by the development teams at Collibra. You will get the domain knowledge about the most important areas.
  • Within your third month, you will be able to develop new functionalities.
  • Within your sixth month, you will be able to actively participate in the development process, by developing new functionalities, proposing new solutions and improvements for customers. You will extend your domain knowledge.
