About The Team
WeWork’s Pricing and Revenue Optimization Technology is core team that generates prices for worldwide inventory. This Sr Engineering Manager will leverage our business processes expertise and lead the engineering team to deliver large-scale near real time data ingestion and calculation platform. You will be accountable for driving the entire platform life-cycle, from platform product definition through specification, coding, quality assurance and launch.
The Pricing and Revenue Optimization Technology systems are responsible for determining and publishing prices for all the products WeWork sells. As a global company each region/country presents a unique set of complexities in generating the price. We are redesigning our core Data Ingestion Pipelines to scale up with WeWork’s growth plans. As an experienced engineering leader in this team, you will play a key role in guiding your engineers to build the best infrastructure for our Data Science team. You will apply Large-scale computing, Distributed systems, Data mining, Scalability and Operational Excellence best practices.
To be successful you will need to be able to keep the long-term objectives in mind while guiding the team through short-term obstacles. You drive relentlessly to develop the careers of your developers, improve our development processes, remove bottlenecks and friction, and allow the team to move at a fast pace. You will need to collaborate closely with business leads, product owners, technical program managers, designers and partner teams. You are comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and are always open to identifying alternative paths.

About the Role

- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
- 5+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
- Experience in partnering with product and program management teams
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience building customer and developer facing products and services
- Experience with project delivery for cross-functional projects
- Deep hands-on technical expertise
- Strong business and technical vision
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- A deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping software on time
- Experience with high volume, low-latency architectures
- Experience building large-scale web services backed by cloud services, such as AWS
- Experience in machine learning technologies and big data is a plus
- Experience or background in video encoding or delivery is a plus
