Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products is the business unit within the Walt Disney Company responsible for developing and maintaining the online guest experiences of our theme parks, resorts and cruise line.
This role is for a back-end services engineer for our java services team, including building out and supporting site search solutions for our biggest brands, helping millions of guests find the information they need to have the best Parks experience possible.
Work directly with other software engineers, web developers, QA engineers, and business partners to create and maintain high quality products that directly contribute to company goals and guest satisfaction. Use your software engineering expertise to help build and improve java web services and real-time aggregation and pipeline services for guest-facing content. Work in our search platform and manage multiple search applications using Elasticsearch and multi-language indices in a faceted search environment.
Responsibilities :

• Be part of a strong development team implementing and maintaining java services and search capabilities across Parks websites
• Develop high quality code adhering to engineering best practices including automated unit and integration testing, code reviews, and documentation
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle; oversee assigned projects from inception to completion to sustainment

Basic Qualifications :

• 7+ years of Java web services engineering, analysis, and design in a full software development lifecycle context
• 5+ years with Internet technologies including RESTful web services
• 5+ years using cloud deployment in AWS or Azure
• General SQL and relational database skills
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral
• Solid technical judgment, strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent problem determination and solving skills - ability to navigate different technical environments
• Ability to collaborate with team members and business partners to research and design potential new and innovative solutions
• Agile Kanban development methodology
