We are seeking a highly collaborative Sr. Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers that are focused on a best-in-class cross-channel conversational commerce experience.  This person should have a natural ability to creatively solve customer pain points by building innovative solutions.

In this role you will:

• Be the technology leader for the LivePerson Cross-Channel team.  You will own the technology roadmap and collaborate with Leadership, Product, UX, and other internal teams to provide a stable, innovative, and valuable product. 
• Own the product development lifecycle including development, automation, QA, CI, DevOps and production operations.  
• Manage, lead, coach and hire a highly-talented engineering team 
• Plan, design, and deliver complex, broad-scale systems that span several departments or functions.
• Develop and report performance metrics for your team and coach them for success.
• Perform code reviews and deployments
• Set goals for your direct reports which are aligned with the company goals.
• Collaborate with other teams to execute your roadmap and achieve the best results 
• Be responsible for the growth of the team and your direct team members. 
• Always think long term and never sacrifice a long term goal for a short term success. 
• Be responsible and accountable for the product vision and product roadmap. You will work together with the local product manager, corresponding team lead and senior management to craft the product vision, mission, tenets, and roadmap for each team.
• Keep an eye on industry standards and best practices. Never stop learning. Always challenge the status quo. 
• Work remotely and collaborate with teams all over the globe

You should be an expert in:

• Master's/Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or have equivalent professional experience
• Experience working asynchronously on a remote, distributed team
• 10+ years experience in software development
• 5+ years experience leading, recruiting and managing software development teams
• Experience with Java, Node.JS, Git is a plus
• Experience building teams and motivating them
• Good understanding of various platforms and technologies (AWS, Java, Python)
• Strong attention to detail, planning, and organization
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Passionate about fostering good engineering practices and processes
• Developing strategies and technical roadmaps
• Strong business and technical vision
• Experience in ecommerce is a plus
