SRE Engineering Manager
SeatGeek is a product-centric organization that deploys code into production multiple times per day. As we grow, the scale of our infrastructure and operating environment will continue to increase.
As an SRE Engineering Manager, you'll lead a team of talented Site Reliability Engineers responsible for infrastructure supporting SeatGeek's production services. Together with your team, you will greatly shape what it means to operate systems that delight our users.
You will manage a heavily distributed team composed of engineers from Berlin, Germany, and the United States. You will grow and support this talented group, ensuring that the team is well equipped to succeed.
What you'll do
- Manage a team of SRE Engineers
- Play an active role in our recruiting process, helping us grow our engineering team in any way you can
- Provide regular job performance feedback, hold one-on-ones, and provide career development support to your direct reports
- Own the incident response process at SeatGeek, modeled after industry best practices
- Select new and work with existing technology vendors. You constantly make build or buy decisions together with your team
- Guide the team to improve operational and engineering best practices to keep our development machine humming
- Communicate technical and product decisions to the right people, resolve blocking issues, and collaborate with other leaders across the organization
- Work with your Technical and Product counterparts to form a compelling vision and direction for the team
Who you are
- You've worked as an Engineer in the past, and you are familiar with the challenges of that role
- You know what it is managing a group of productive and talented engineers
- You have experience with observability systems
- You work with service owners, helping them to apply best practices in running systems in production
- You can simplify complex topics to better suit a non-technical audience
- With your knowledge of industry technology trends, you can help your team make good tooling and framework decisions setting them up for success
- You have meaningful knowledge of industry technology trends in the SRE space

- Languages: C#/.NET/.NET Core, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Go
- Datastores: MS SQL Server, Postgres, Amazon DynamoDB
- Version control: GitLab
- Infrastructure: AWS , GitLab CI/CD, HashiStack (Nomad, Consul, Vault)
- Monitoring: Datadog
- Alerting and Incident Response: PagerDuty, FireHydrant
