As a Staff SRE joining our team, you will join our Infrastructure team in designing and operating critical systems to ensure the performance and availability of Alfred’s suite of applications. The Infrastructure team is focused on providing a scalable, secure, and robust foundation on which our Product Engineering teams build. We are on a mission to reach thousands of building units, which will impact the lives of residents and their daily lives: everything from signing leases, getting packages, signing up for community-building events, and more. 

You will play a key role in our Engineering organization by developing scalable and flexible cloud infrastructure and platforms to improve workflows for your engineering teammates. We are passionate about providing developer-friendly cloud resources to be used throughout all phases of development, testing, and deployment and are excited about the future of our data platform.

How you’ll contribute to #OneTeam

• Design and build cloud platform software solutions in a public cloud environment.
• Be Responsible for defining & implementing company-wide datastore policies with a focus on reliability, throughput, scalability, and security.
• Write tested and efficient code. Deliver software on a sustainable schedule that keeps work-life balance in mind
• Be deeply engaged in the full development lifecycle starting from design, to development, testing, deployment, and finally maintenance and monitoring.
• Work on a team of peers in an environment that will keep you constantly challenged and learning new things every day
• Work with business stakeholders to identify software solutions to business challenges
• Mentor and learn from your teammates and foster an inclusive, empowering team dynamic

Who you are 

• You have at least 7 years of real-world experience working collaboratively and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams.  You’ve shipped multiple large software projects and learned from the experiences
• Desire to drive serious business impact and a bias-for-action. You like to move forward, you follow through, and you’re accountable for the results
• An innate curiosity and an open mind. You're able to learn new tools and technologies quickly. Our stack includes: Kubernetes, Grafana, Prometheus, Docker, AirFlow, Go, Python
• Empathy isn’t just a word for you, it’s a principle you live by and look to contribute actively where you work
• Familiarity and experience with cloud providers like GCP, containerization, and service meshes like Istio
• Strong expertise and development skills in building, scaling, and supporting database technologies (mongoDB, Postgres, event streaming, caching)
• Looks proactively beyond the obvious for continuous improvement opportunities. Demonstrates analytical thinking - recommends improvements and uses data to prove/disprove them
• Able to complete and deliver feature or functionality independently and reliably
