What You'll Be Doing

• Leading design system engineering, product configuration control panel engineering, development of front end utilities to support product development, Front end optimization
• Having accountability for clear front end product roadmaps, releases against schedule and quality of product releases
• Ensuring technical documentation, component libraries, code samples and snippets, test suites, UI performance metrics are delivered as part of product releases
• Providing direction, technical expertise and oversight in designing, developing, unit testing and releasing changes to our core front end platforms
• Participating on internal stakeholder meetings to gather requirements, providing technical recommendations and providing implementation updates
• Delivering estimated resource requirements and budgets for front end component changes, in coordination with dependent product and client delivery teams
• Project scheduling, allocations and resource management for all core front end deliverables
• Ensuring the team leverages approved technologies and follows organizational engineering best practices
• Conducting / participating on daily scrum meetings for changes to Design System and Control Panel in support of product and client delivery roadmaps
• Working closely with product management and client delivery teams to ensure amazing products are built and client satisfaction is achieved
• Accountability for development of meaningful metrics to ensure UI stability and performance, such as “time to first meaningful paint” and “time to first contentful paint”, accessibility, compliance with standards such as WCAG
• Establishing actionable metrics to measure overall velocity and quality, leveraging for continual improvement opportunities
• Being responsible for staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations, and performance management 

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development management experience
• 3+ years of working within the health insurance industry
• Experience building solutions for software as a service (SaaS) platforms or products is preferred, but not required
• Experience with modern development languages, source code management platforms, continuous integration/deployment platforms, unit test frameworks and static code analysis platforms is required
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, Angular, React is preferred, but not required
• Exposure to design system platforms is preferred, but not required
• Experience working with Agile development methodology
• Proficient in handling the most complex of technical development concepts, latest software tools and technologies, and designing techniques
• Exceptional communication skills
