POSITION DESCRIPTION

As an Embedded Systems Test Technician, you will be responsible for conducting and improving mid and large scale testing of StrongArm embedded products in close cooperation with the Embedded Systems Engineering group.

Our products are used by thousands of Industrial Athletes across Fortune 100 companies. Our growing product and system testing requirements include:

  • Basic embedded systems testing
  • Test device development and automation
  • Large scale automated programming & monitoring of local and remote devices

Your role in the Embedded Engineering Group would allow you to apply hardware, software and creative skills to testing, tracking sensor responses, embedded programming, real-time systems, human motion detection, Bluetooth, and other technologies.You will be a critical part of the product development cycle and also be responsible for creating new tools and processes to ensure reliability and scalability.

In this role, you will work with the Embedded Systems Group in firmware and hardware test. You will collaborate with designers, product managers, data engineers, and client facing teams.

Technical Qualifications / Key Skills

  • Willing to learn, contribute and aggressively expand their technical skillset
  • Testing software for microcontrollers and SoCs (e.g. Python , C, C++, gdb, make)
  • Hardware testing and breadboarding
  • Understanding & improving test processes from one to thousands of devices
  • Diligent, ongoing documentation of tests, test results and test data sets, including version control and tracking defects
  • Usage of the command line; GUIs are OK, command line is for pros
  • Ability to apply software development of specialized testing tools
  • Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and testing disciplines
  • Thorough attention to detail
  • 1+ years professional work experience


Bonus Skills

  • Electrical test using oscilloscope, voltmeters, logic analyzers, etc.
  • Experience with micro-controllers + development platforms similar to Nordic nRF5xx, TI, STM
  • Experience debugging issues on I2C & SPI
  • Testing sensors such as IMUs, atmospheric, etc.
  • Scripting for test automation
  • Math or interest in same

  • Thoroughly test current products and identify deficiencies early
  • Execute and improve product testing
  • Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents
  • Define testing strategies and scope for technical development tasks
  • Identify QA process bottlenecks and take actions for improvement 
  • Provide accurate estimates on testing
  • Analyzing results and helping identify the root cause of malfunctions
  • Ongoing improvement of technical and process skills as organization grows
