AdHawk is looking for an experienced Vice President (VP) of Engineering to direct and oversee our engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of dedicated and talented software engineers in developing AdHawks web platform
• Collaborate with product management, business, UX, and other engineering teams across the full product development lifecycle
• Lead an agile development process to iteratively build user value driven solutions
• Produce solid, thoroughly tested code (including automated tests)
• Practice continuous deployment with new features and updates
• Coach team members on their personal and career development
• Work with Engineering leadership to define, execute, and align on a unified technology strategy
• Ensure engineers are empowered to accomplish technical projects that improve total product health, while simultaneously balancing strategic product priorities

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years running engineering teams
• Strong engagement and leadership within an open source community (either a maintainer, contributor or leader to open source projects)
• Proficient in Ruby/Rails developmentStrong practitioner of automated testing
• Opinionated, but not religious about agile processes
• Strong software engineering & architecture fundamentals
• Fluent in design patterns and able to talk about complex topics in a simple, easy-to-understand way
• Experience with designing and building event-sourced architectures
• Checklist focused, you love the the process of designing team processes and outline them from A-Z
• Excellent communication skills to convey technical solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong motivator that helps align teams to deliver against the team and company’s goals and visions
