About the Role:
We’re seeking a VP of Engineering with deep experience working with cutting edge e-commerce and marketing technologies as well as managing a largely distributed development team. This highly visible role sits at the intersection of technology and business, playing a crucial role in leveraging technology to achieve notable financial outcomes.
The VP of Engineering will play a significant role across every area of the business, ranging from consumer-facing to operations, to finance. The ideal candidate will ensure our digital products can meet both design and business requirements and deliver a consistent experience for both internal users and our customers.
He/she will work closely with the Leadership team to ensure company-wide technology objectives are being met and deadlines achieved. This role will be located in our showroom worthy NYC/Flatiron office.
Responsibilities Include:
- Improving site conversion rate with Product Managers & Growth Marketers.
- Constant pipeline of A/B tests and funnel optimization
- Maintain and improving website performance – every percentage of improvement results in significant revenue increase
- Lead, manage and mentor a team of software engineers and related personnel.
- Understand and collaborate on product roadmap with product & marketing teams.
- Recommend new technology and ideas to improve sprints and efficiency.
- Architect, build upon, and improve our Shopify-centric tech stack.
- Recruit and develop top-tier engineering talent.
- Develop best-in-class procedures ensuring quality standards are met and maintained.
- Communicate effectively and work with key stakeholders across the organization to ensure satisfaction of their requirements.
What makes you qualified:
- Full-stack software engineer with proven experience in e-commerce and marketing technologies.
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably working with Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Retail, or e-commerce organizations.
- 5+ years in engineering management at a lean / agile organization, experience with remote is a plus.
- Extensive experience with modern web technologies and architectures.
- Ability to effectively support multiple teams and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience working with a distributed and remote workforce, agencies, and a myriad of vendors.
- Deep expertise with modern marketing & data technologies like Google Analytics 360, GTM, A/B Testing Tools (Google Optimize)
- Ability to thrive in the unknown and enjoy the journey of identifying solutions
- Subject matter expert on all things Shopify and other similar platforms
