About the Role

The VP of Engineering will have holistic ownership over MANTL’s engineering organization. You will be responsible for maintaining a strong engineering culture, attracting world class talent, and overseeing the overall health of the engineering team at a fast growing technology start up. This is a huge opportunity for the right person who wants to get in early, assume a leadership role, and make a large and lasting impact as we scale. You will report directly to the CTO.

Who You Are:

You are an executor with a proven track record of delivering technical solutions to complex problems and scaling engineering teams. You know how to manage multiple teams of engineers, scale codebases, and implement best practices. You thrive by shaping technology to meet the needs of a fast growing business. You are as comfortable tapping out code for a POC as you are understanding higher level business needs and working directly with C-level management. You are at the top of your game and are looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity. You love writing APIs that solve complex business problems and building slick user interfaces that make end user workflows simple and easy. You are a Node.js expert who knows SQL databases inside and out. You know what version of Node.js is currently LTS, and have strong opinions about the latest ECMAScript constructs, linting, testing, code organization, interface design, error messaging, logging and all the other building blocks of a great software. You also love to teach and lead other developers toward achieving a common goal.

• Track record of success scaling technology organizations 
• Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills
• Dedicated to creating and maintaining a strong engineering culture 
• Past experience as a professional software engineer
• Track record of success in start-up environments

 Nice to Haves:

• Experience with FinTech 
• Experience in B2B Sass 
• Experience working in an AGILE/SCRUM environment
• Graduate Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
