About The Brief

The Brief is the AI agency for modern marketers, our platform powers the entire campaign lifecycle, helping teams create on-brand assets, launch across channels, analyze performance, and apply learnings to start again, smarter. Trusted by brands like lastminute.com, AstraZeneca, Lindt, The Economist and more, The Brief removes friction and transforms how marketers move from insight to execution to impact.

You’ll be joining a team that’s rethinking how modern marketing gets done. Less chaos, more clarity. Less busywork, more breakthrough work. We’re building the platform that gives marketers time to be brilliant…. and we’re just getting started!

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for a versatile, execution-oriented Finance Manager to join our team. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that sits at the intersection of finance, systems, and strategy—ideal for someone who thrives on solving operational problems and building scalable processes. You’ll support the day-to-day execution of finance projects: partnering with Product, Sales, and Engineering to improve workflows, implement tools, and ensure financial data flows accurately through our systems.

Whether it’s standing up a reporting process, implementing a billing change, or supporting a departmental budget review, you’ll be the person who gets it done. You’ll also flex across analytics and FP&A—running BVA analysis, building models to support business decisions, and helping leadership teams understand what’s working and what needs attention. This is a hands-on role for someone who’s comfortable switching contexts, connects the dots across teams, and brings order and insight to fast-moving parts of the business.

What you'll do

Finance Operations & Cross-Functional Execution

  • Lead cross-functional finance projects that improve systems, processes, and decision-making—examples include streamlining billing workflows, implementing pricing changes in Recurly, or building spend approval frameworks
  • Coordinate and drive the MBR process: align stakeholders, ensure metrics are tracked and reported consistently, and facilitate ongoing accountability reviews across the business
  • Serve as a connector between Finance and other departments to ensure business initiatives are supported by sound processes and clean data
  • Establish and document scalable workflows for recurring finance processes (e.g., budgeting, procurement, vendor tracking)

Analytics & Business Partnering

  • Run BVA analysis, support departmental reviews, and surface key trends across spend, revenue, and margin
  • Build flexible, practical models for ad hoc decision support (e.g., scenario planning, cost modeling, customer/product analysis)
  • Partner with teams across the org to translate business questions into data-driven insights and next steps
  • Own and maintain internal dashboards and reporting tools for finance and business stakeholders

What you bring

  • 6–10 years of experience in finance roles, with exposure to FP&A, business operations, and analytics; experience in SaaS or tech a strong plus
  • A systems mindset—you’ve worked with tools like Recurly, Netsuite, Stripe, or planning platforms (e.g., Mosaic, Pigment, Cube) and know how to make them work together
  • Strong analytical skills—you can build a model from scratch, turn messy data into a clear narrative, and make practical recommendations
  • Experience driving operational processes—whether it's managing monthly reviews (MBRs), budget cycles, or implementing cross-functional workflows
  • Comfort working cross-functionally—you know how to partner with Product, GTM, and Engineering teams without getting lost in translation
  • Strong communication skills—able to distill complex financial topics into actionable takeaways for different stakeholders
  • A bias for execution—you’re hands-on, resourceful, and good at pushing projects over the finish line without needing a large team behind you

Why join us

At The Brief, we’re building more than a product, we’re building a culture where ambitious people can thrive. We operate with a winners’ mindset, pushing each other to aim higher while celebrating every step forward. We encourage respectful debate because the best ideas come from diverse perspectives. We move with speed and experimentation, always learning and iterating, and we engage without ego, collaborating as equals to achieve something greater together. If you want to be part of a team that’s bold, fast, and supportive, The Brief is the place to grow.
