The Analyst Role

The LeagueApps Finance Operations Analyst will report directly to the VP, Finance and help scale our financial administration, accounting processes, and operations to the next level.

The ideal candidate:

- wants to be in a fast-paced environment as part of a venture-backed tech startup team, focusing on the business of sports- is a self-starter than likes both working independently on their responsibilities, and is also a great teammate to help enable the success of others and the team as a whole
- desires to be a difference-maker by executing budgeting tracking and optimization initiatives, owning AP/AR, executing our with daily billing operations, and scaling the financial administration of the entire company
- is eager to roll up their sleeves to help management complete additional office management and operational tasks

Accounting Execution Responsibilities:

- Learn and own the day-to-day financial administration of the company including key parts of monthly close, AR/AP and vendor management, expense controls, department budgeting, banking and taxes- Transition and take "in-house" ownership of our bookkeeping from our existing part-time external bookkeeping and accounting resources
- Drive cost-savings initiatives and help implement appropriate controls
- Classify and codify expenses in accordance with our chart of accounts and people
- Perform month-end variance analysis and provide high level commentary and insights to management team; analyze and communicate trends in KPIs including all areas of sales, COGS, OPEX, capital expenditures, working capital and cash flow, using operational metrics to explain and validate financial results
- Work closely with the Office Manager on executing office administration (especially where it involves our finances), and being a second order of help to the team when our Office Manager is unavailable

Operational Finance Responsibilities:

- Must develop thorough understanding of our current billing system; learn how to execute monthly billing and payments operations, reconciliations, and reporting- Support company department leaders to drive performance, forecasting, and goals
- Extract actionable insights from huge volumes of data using data mining, statistics, and database techniques
- Consolidate data from disparate systems and generate timely and insightful reports and dashboards, with an emphasis on data accuracy and relevancy
- Work with CEO, President, and other company leaders to execute operational projects related to HR and People Operations
- Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis

Experience:

- 2-4 years of progressive startup financial administration and accounting experience- BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Working experience in high-growth, SaaS/recurring revenue, private companies preferred
- Desire to work closely with cross-functional teams and operating managers
- Excited to apply existing financial and analytical skills to a collaborative team-based working environment
- Quickbooks expert; CPA a plus
- Experience with additional AR/AP tools including Bill.com, Abacus, Expensify, etc. preferred
- Experience working in a sales-driven organization and with Salesforce.com preferred
- 2-year commitment with desire to move into more senior operational or managerial roles at LeagueApps or attend business school

- Manage and prioritize competing demands
- Excel and Google Sheets all-pro
- Technical skills preferred; MS Access, Visual Basic, SQL experience a plus
- Flexible and able to work in a fast paced environment with constantly-changing priorities
