Why is an Accountant important to us?
As a Finance team, our goal is to provide an elevated level of service to the company, ensuring that the people who rely on us (our colleagues, our suppliers, our business partners, our leaders) have access to timely, accurate information about our business. Everything we do is geared towards making sure that the Finance department runs efficiently and that the books and records of the corporation are accurate. The department is fast, nimble, and adaptable to a growing, changing environment where new challenges present themselves on a regular basis. We are looking for a smart, hard-working, dedicated Accountant to support the finance team.
As an Accountant you will:
- Perform month end and quarter-close duties while supporting team close deadlines and deliverables.
- Monthly balance sheet account reviews and reconciliations, as well as month-end close reviews.
- Process accounts payable including, enter and verify bills, invoices, and purchase orders, ensuring compliance
- Assist in preparation of supporting documentation for the annual audit
- Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting processes
- Other ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
You might be a good fit if you (have, possess, are):
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or related field.
- 3+ years of experience working in accounting, public accounting / public company experience.
- CPA preferred, not required
- Expert Knowledge of accounting principles.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, including the ability to summarize key accounting and operational issues to management.
- Complex analytic problem solving and project management skills
- Experience with Financial reporting requirements
- Experience with GAAP and SOX key controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
