As Calculate continues to scale, we’re seeking an Associate Director with a background in accounting to spearhead our engagement with VC funds and technology startups. This role will include acting as the Controller to growing companies as well as being a key player in helping Calculate scale.

What You’d Do

• Act as the Controller, finance manager, and accountant to funds and tech startups by working closely with their founding and management teams
• Manage accounting processes, execute financial operations, project working capital, create forecasts, and prepare financial statements
• Lead projects to rebuild historical financial statements, convert books from cash to accrual, or implement lasting accounting systems
• Foster partnerships as a go-to resource for entrepreneurs, investors, VCs, and accelerators
• Work closely with our management team to continue to develop the consumer vertical of Calculate and be a key contributor to business
• Continually develop skills and broaden knowledge base to actively improve client service and business offerings

What You’ve Got

• 6+ years’ experience in accounting, particularly in the technology industry
• CPA
• Background in audit with a strong understanding of GAAP and concepts like ASC 606 and ASC 810
• Experience leading people to execute tasks, projects, and strategies
• Effective communicator particularly with conveying complex financial concepts and impacts to individuals who are not financially savvy
• Entrepreneurial mindset with craving to be a key contributor of building and scaling a business.
