Who You Are
You are detail oriented and able to work independently. You will own and embrace improvement and proactively identify opportunities for automation while also keeping an eye on risk and compliance. As the Accounting Manager you will be expected to ensure daily accounting controls across a team are being followed and to manage our close on a monthly and annual basis. There will also be some deep dive into the general ledger to identify issues and work cross functionally to provide solutions.
Your Success ProfileWhat You Will Work On
- Manage the monthly and annual financial close, checklist items, and account reconciliations. Review journal entries and drive operational efficiencies, quality improvement, and standardization across the accounting function.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP and company standards
- Assist the Controller with designing and implementing new control procedures related to month-end close and other general accounting activities in compliance with internal control requirements
- Supervise, challenge, and grow a team of 4 accountants with potential new hires in the future
- Assist the Controller and the broader accounting team with implementation of new accounting standards, new revenue streams, and new lines of business
- Coordinate and support internal and external auditors as necessary
- Identify opportunities for enhancements to existing processes to achieve greater efficiency as the business scales
- Manage the procure to pay process including approval of vendor bills and ensuring payments are made accurately and on time.
- Manage the daily corporate accounting activities, journal entries, accruals and period-end close, for a fast-paced company.
- Assist in the analysis of current procedures in order to identify enhancement opportunities that create efficiencies and lead to a reduced period-end closed timeline.
- Review and help manage the accounts payables and cash revenue functions of the company.
- Develop a more timely and accurate period-end accruals process.
- Perform analytical reviews to provide narrative around activity in the company’s general ledger
- Ad hoc projects and other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 7+ years of start-up (SaaS preferred), public company and/or public accounting experience including experience in a leadership role; Heavy industry experience is preferred, CPA or on track is a plus
- Experience with internal controls / public companies is a plus
- Proficient in using MS Office suite. NetSuite, Floqast and SQL experience
- Track record of leading and developing a team of 2
- Experience with a month-end close process with a strong emphasis on operational accounting.
- Detail oriented, inquisitive in journal entries, accruals and period-end close, for a fast-paced company.
- Ad hoc projects and other duties, responsibilities with Accounts Payable
- Able to work without supervision and meet tight deadlines
The base wage range for this position based in our New York City Office is targeted at $122,000.00 to $134,200.00 per year.

Actual compensation is based on multiple factors that are unique to each candidate, including and not limited to skill set, level of relevant experience, and specific work location. Salary ranges for positions based in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
