The Role:
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting Manager will help to manage the general ledger and AP/AR functions at Electric. The Manager will be responsible for performing account reconciliations, assisting with implementing systems and policies, supporting financial reporting, and partnering with business stakeholders on ad-hoc projects.
The Finance & Operations team is deeply ingrained in all the functional areas of Electric and partners heavily with leaders across the company. For us, the accounting function is forward looking and proactive as we not only measure outcomes but drive solutions that improve the overall operation of the company. We seek to build a best-in-class team of financial professionals and tools to support accounting and controllership at the highest level or precision.
What you’ll do
- Manage the month end close process; reduce days to complete, improve transparency and controls with a goal to maintain a 7-day close cycle
- Drive accuracy and efficiency into close process through establishing process improvement goals
- Responsible for overseeing all general ledger tasks and account reconciliations
- Manage the day to day workflows of the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and year-end analyses
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and provide guidance for special projects
- Support weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and analyses
- Participate in the annual financial audit with external auditors, including preparation and review of schedules
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting systems, policies and processes
- Additional managerial and accounting duties as necessary
Who you are
- BA or BS degree in Finance or Accounting
- 2-3 years of public accounting experience
- 4-7 years of experience in a finance and accounting role
- Extremely detail oriented
- Understanding of US GAAP, including software and SaaS revenue recognition
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of employees, management, executives, and other organizations
- Proven project management, problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making ability
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to influence and interface effectively with employees at all levels within the company as well as external professionals
- Ability to function in a consultative style and to drive for results through cross-functional interactions
Nice to Have
- CPA with preferably a mix of public accounting and private industry experience
- SAAS experience
- Experience implementing accounting systems/tools
- ERP experience
