About the team & Opportunity:

Accelerate and support Quartet’s mission by acting as a key driver and partner to the Finance team to develop a strong, credible and high integrity financial function that will utilize financial information to support and drive Quartet’s business mission.

Quartet’s Finance Team is relentlessly committed to enabling and supporting all teams within the organization by understanding the business through financial information and using financial data to guide actions across Quartet’s business. It is also responsible for the Company’s financial planning, reporting and controls, business strategy, cash management, accounting, auditing, and taxes. The team is looking to continue to grow its roster while upholding its core culture of championing teamwork and encouraging diversity of opinion. We’re looking for a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable Accounting Manager who will lead the Accounting Team within our rapidly growing organization. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to key financial processes while working for an organization that changes people’s lives for the better every day. This role will report into the Vice President, Finance.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department
  • Own end-to-end monthly close process including:
    • Account reconciliations for prepaids, accruals, or other GL accounts as needed
    • Reviewing the work of Accounting Clerk and any interns
    • Monitor and analyze financial data and produce financial reports or statements to hand off to FP&A Manager
    • Develop deep understanding of Quartet’s revenue streams and revenue reporting
  • Own annual financial statement audits performed by a Big Four public accounting firm, which includes preparation and oversight of audit-ready financial statements and supporting workpapers
  • Manage payroll, A/R, A/P, cash management, and expense management functions
  • Work side by side with the FP&A Team to streamline reporting, account classifications, budgeting, forecasting, and expense management.
  • Own expense policy and control management, teaming with all organizational functions to manage departmental expenditures
  • Manage tax compliance process and maintain good standing with U.S. federal and state tax authorities
  • Assist in the formation of internal controls and policies and implement procedures
  • Research accounting issues for compliance with U.S. GAAP

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years of Public Accounting experience
  • Experience leading company through Audit (in private sector)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Solid foundation of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, financial processes (monthly close, financial reporting, A/R, A/P, cash management, etc.), stellar organization skills, and problem-solving ability
  • Ability to manage, mentor, and professionally develop a small team
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the proven ability to communicate effectively both inside and outside the finance/accounting department

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mix of public (4+ years) and private accounting (2+ years) experience
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field
  • Proficiency with Quickbooks
  • Ability to work autonomously or with limited oversight, completing assignments in a timely manner.
  • Self-starter mentality who enjoys thriving in a fast-moving, dynamic environment and a meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work across disciplines to generate new processes and/or resolve issues
