As the Accounts Payable Specialist you will work closely with the Corporate Finance and Accounts Payable Teams to help grow the company's financial infrastructure within New York City and ultimately across multiple markets. You will be instrumental in driving efficiency gains and daily operational activities. This position is a great way to enter the company and learn more about the systems and processes that make us successful while making a meaningful contribution. 


At Compass You Will:

  • Manage and reconcile the Company Corporate Card ensuring all documentation and approvals are collected and entries are properly coded
  • Reconcile all ACH debit and Wire payments processed and record in Accounting accounting system and ensuring all documentation is included.
  • Communicate with vendors and resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation and determining appropriate adjustments
  • Collaborate across departments to manage vendor relationships, account classification and financial reporting
  • Assist in maintaining financial records and generate reports to help in departmental financial planning and budget process
  • Assist in the preparation of gathering information for 1099 reporting for all vendors
  • Assist with additional areas of accounting and ad hoc requests such as managing the collection of outstanding receivables and communication with customers regarding payment status
  • Review and resolve all invoice discrepancies or escalate higher level issues to Accounts Payable Manager, as needed

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3-5 years experience in business, accounting, economics, or other quantitatively driven fields
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience in Netsuite and/or Coupa a plus
  • Strong critical thinking and quantitative skills
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Self-starter attitude and ability to exercise judgment and solve difficult problems without direct supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills and glass-half-full mentality
  • Experience working with different subsidiaries
