Requirements
About the role
Rokt is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented AP/AR Specialist to join our growing team. This role is based in our New York office, reporting to the Accounting Manager, also based in New York.
The AP/AR Specialist will be responsible for the group-wide Accounts Payable (“AP”) and Accounts Receivable (“AR”) functions.
To be successful in this role, you need a sound base knowledge in accounting along with relevant experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. You recognize how to balance getting the details right while still moving fast. You must be a highly driven, energetic and focused individual that can work well with internal and external partners at all levels and communicate clearly and effectively. You will be expected to problem solve, drive process improvements and exercise good business judgment in this role.
Outcomes & responsibilities
- Owner of the Accounts Payable cycle group-wide, from processing invoices and running supplier payments to queuing and reconciling payments
- Owner of our help desk, including actioning Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable tickets, as well as allocating out other tickets to the rest of the Finance team
- Following up with outstanding debtors on a consistent basis, and providing regular status updates to the greater Finance team
- Assist in managing expense review and reimbursement
- Complete regulatory filings such as 1099 in the US
- Aid in implementation of standards procedures and internal controls to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
- Identify, drive and roll-out process improvements globally
Capabilities & requirements
- Proven: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, and relevant prior experience in an Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable role (at least 2 years). Experience in an early-stage growth company will be looked upon favorably.
- Communicative: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and professionally with management, vendors and colleagues. You enjoy working with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams across different geographic locations. You keep others in the company informed and up to date on your priorities, current tasks and work completed.
- Strategic: You are a strong, analytical problem solver with a common sense and practical solutions orientation. You are a problem solver, and are well organised with strong time management skills. Ability to think ‘outside the box’ and be open to a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Dedicated: You are hardworking, keen to improve and take on challenges. High level of attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple requests.
You know:
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Experience using G-Suite
- Experience with systems such as Bill.com, Brex, ERPs (Netsuite, Workday, etc.) will be looked upon favourably
