The Opportunity

Shutterstock is seeking an accounting professional to take on the role of Accounts Receivable / Collections Analyst to help support our continued growth in EMEA. Based in the Berlin office, the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the customer-to-sales cycle. 

This position requires a fluent or near-native German speaker that is highly motivated and adaptable to change with preferable experience of both German and UK market. 

Responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Customer outreach regarding outstanding balances
  • Creation of new customer billing entities
  • Timely and accurately processing account adjustments for bank fees and other variances (i.e. forex, shortages, etc.)
  • Research and resolve payment variances by partnering with the customer and account managers
  • Bring experience to the table and provide opportunities for process improvement and additional efficiencies
  • Perform account reconciliations to determine gaps/inconsistencies in invoicing and payment applications
  • Assist in reconciling current backlog of unapplied cash and adjusting customer accounts as necessary
  • Prepare, review, and process invoices daily
  • Issue monthly statements, keep customers files updated with current invoices, bills and contact information
  • Completing ad-hoc adjustments as assigned by the AR lead or management team

Requirements:

  • at least 3+ years’ experience working in accounts receivable with a focus on credit control and collections with specific concentration in a high volume international/multi-currency environment
  • Bi-lingual German and English required
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (vlookups, pivot tables) is critical
  • Analytical, detail-oriented and strong communication and organizational skills are a must
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Great Plains and/or Workday experience is preferred
