The Assistant Controller is responsible for helping create the direction of and supervising general accounting. You will also be responsible for a wide-range of activities, including day-to-day accounting responsibilities, team development, drive accounting initiatives, establishment of the company's accounting and finance infrastructure and a variety of financial analyses and special projects. This opportunity has strong upside and will expand with the growth of the company. You'll interact with all departments in the organization while also developing, managing and mentoring the Finance team.This role will report directly to the VP Global Controller and Treasurer

When you’re not catching zzz’s, this is what you’ll do

• Oversee the operations of and help grow the accounting department
• Quarterback the monthly close process to issue timely (monthly, quarterly, annual) and complete financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Plan and oversee on-going internal process to push for efficiencies, automation and accuracy of financial management and financial systems
• Ensure the accurate and timely analysis of budgets, forecasts, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist Executive Management team
• Support the development of the annual planning cycle and interim financial updates
• Primary point of contact with external audits.

Our dream candidate 

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent, and CPA required 
• 15+ years of demonstrated professional development and advancement in accounting focused roles
• 3+ years audit experience at a Big 4 accounting firm
• 3+ years company experience, with a preference for e-commerce or manufacturing experience
• Experience working as a Controller or similar hands-on capacity in a previous role
• Ability to assess and implement technology to automate and control numerous accounting processes
• Previous JDE ERP experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, internal controls, operational risk assessment, and management financial reporting
• Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate with cross functional teams
• Self-motivated and independent, detailed oriented, strong work ethic, and high integrity and ethical standards
