About the Role
Our US&C Community Operations (CommOps) Finance team helps scale the financial planning, analytics and reporting capabilities across US and Canada to empower business decision makers within the region.
You will play a key role in all aspects of financial planning and analysis and make meaningful contributions to high-profile strategic and operational initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Financial planning and analysis: serve as one of the main contacts for all things finance-related for US&C Community Operations Finance (including monthly reporting, forecasting, goal setting and modeling lead).
  • Sophisticated financial modeling: build models from scratch, improve existing models, break complex models down into components that consolidate - you can do it all!
  • Monthly close: analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and plan - use insights to iterate on forecasts and build/discuss potential action plans with cross-functional partners.
  • Expect to partner with Accounting, Tax, Financial Operations Teams to guarantee correct allocations and provide inputs to enhance overall finance processes.
  • Process improvement: help us scale and transition from startup to enterprise. Part of this is maturing our planning processes, part is ensuring finance best practices spread through the organization.
  • Special projects / ad hoc analyses: new initiatives, products, risks and opportunities are constantly arising. You will help to financially evaluate and drive these important initiatives beyond traditional FP&A on a variety of projects

Bachelor's Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 1.5 years' (Associate) / 3 years' (Sr. Associate) professional experience in Corporate Finance, FP&A, Corporate Development / Strategy, Consulting, or relevant area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Outstanding Excel skills: generate efficient, scalable and intuitive models with knowledge of the best practices. You can handle complexity but strive for simplicity.
  • Accounting: understanding of accounting and GAAP.
  • Attention to detail: consistent with swift execution. We need to do things quickly, and do them well.
  • Excellent communication and people skills: numbers are key, but a business is built with people and you will handle several different team members.
  • Financial systems: proven understanding of enterprise-level financial planning systems.
  • SQL skills: the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data we require will make you much more effective in this role.
  • Presentation skills: knowing how to structure effective presentations will increase your impact.

For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $120,000 per year - $133,000 per year. You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
