We’re looking for a process-driven problem solver to join our team as our first Controller and continue to scale our operations. The Controller will work closely with the CFO to scale processes, controls, and reporting and will lead the financial audit process.  The ideal candidate will be a master of ASC-606, internal controls and all things GAAP accounting and will be excited to help automate and streamline operational processes. 

What you’ll do:

  • Owning and directing accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue recognition, and monthly close
  • Leading month-end close process and financial statement reporting
  • Ensuring compliance with US GAAP by establishing and enforcing policies, procedures, and controls
  • Tracking and managing compliance with federal, state and local tax and legal requirements for a  growing remote workforce
  • Leading and coordinating financial statement audit and tax engagements to successful and timely completion
  • Managing accounting systems and processes and leading efforts to continually improve and promote efficiency
  • Leading and mentoring a small but growing accounting team

If the details below describe you, you could be a great fit for this role:

  • 7+ years experience in combination of SaaS business / public accounting
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • Deep knowledge of GAAP, SaaS accounting and business models (and ability to research any accounting issues you don’t know!)
  • Proven track record of success managing a small accounting team
  • Strong sense of ownership (one of our core values!) of all things accounting
  • Love for automating processes via technology (no-code, Python or SQL experience a plus)
  • Can clearly communicate the “why” of decisions and who those decisions are affecting
  • Highly analytical and thoughtful in both building out processes and digging into financial statements
  • Experience with SaasOptics, Netsuite, Slack / Zapier and Google Sheets
  • Experience implementing new accounting systems
  • International expansion experience
