Job Description:
We're looking for a Controller to be a founding member of the Sneaker Con Digital team.
In this role, you will act as key leadership in our Finance department. This position will be focused on various controllership activities such as continuous improvement of various close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information on a monthly basis. Someone who understands US GAAP and the SEC reporting requirements as well as strong operational skills to build an Accounts Payable team that can scale with Sneaker Con’s growth. This position will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining accounting policies and internal controls in line with company standards.
Responsibilities:
Evaluation and analysis on Sneaker Con growth initiatives from the financial, rish and commercial perspective
Distribution of reports to Sneaker Con Senior Leadership outlining Company financial metrics.
Collaboration with department heads to construct, execute and manage budgets
Involvement in capital structure, financing and governance related areas in support of Sneaker Con Senior Leadership.
Provide strategic and tactical leadership for general ledger and accounts payable team to ensure various company objectives are met.
Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reporting packages in accordance with US GAAP, internal policies and Sneaker Con’s timelines.
Collaborate with our CTO to improve the overall month-end process within a short time frame and on a go- forward basis.
Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and P&L accounts and provide a proper fluctuation analysis to support balances.
Develop, implement, monitor and remediate controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with company standards.
Requirements:
7 + years of progressive accounting and leadership experience in an e-commerce environment, retail or logistics environment
Licensed CPA with public accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred
Significant experience with Tier 1 and Tier 2 ERP systems
Able to meet deadlines in a fast paced, growth-oriented environment and can adapt to new process flows and software technologies quickly
Strong interpersonal skills with solutions-oriented approach to problems
Possess high ethical standards and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
