about the role:
nate is looking for its first Controller, based in its NYC HQ. Reporting to the VP of Finance & Operations, the Controller will be responsible for all global accounting activities and will build the function from the ground up. The ideal candidate has experience in both public accounting and a start-up environment. what you'll do:
- You’ll be responsible for the Accounting, Revenue Recognition, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Stock Administration for the entire company
- Set up and build out the necessary systems, policies, internal controls and processes to support the business as it continues to rapidly scale
- Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
- Track and manage cash flow and working capital
- Build and manage the relationships with external accountants
about you:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and Big 4 experience required
- 7+ years of relevant experience in a general accounting function; start-up experience is preferred
- Experience with multi-currency and multi-entity consolidations; UK experience a Plus
- Demonstrated ability to create and simplify policies and procedures
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong ability to work cross-functionally
- Strong knowledge of systems including ERPs such as Netsuite, expense management tools, and AP automation
