Who Are We Looking For?

A Credit Analyst to help accelerate our ability to pair small business owners with long-term, low-cost bank loan products. Someone to help expedite the process of screening and processing applications and who is capable of reading financial statements including Business & Personal Tax Returns, analyzing bank statements, and understanding special DSCR situations for the purpose of making a credit decision on behalf of our lender partners. This person must be able to move quickly and efficiently, interfacing with internal stakeholders and bank partners.

As part of our Sales Operations Team, You’ll...

  • Review and assess loan information from small business loan applicants, including bank statements, balance sheets, profit & loss statements, tax returns, and debt schedules.
  • Formulate a recommendation to Fundera’s bank partners as to the approval decision and loan amount based on a thorough review of prospective borrower files.
  • Draft credit memos per bank’s criteria to reflect a detailed understanding of each credit and its inherent strengths and weaknesses.
  • Ensure credit memos are complete and accurate in representing a borrower’s application - i.e. the 5 C’s of Credit - Capacity, Collateral, Capital, Character, and Conditions.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the operations team lead to move applications forward with our lender partners.
  • Help us establish an effective credit process and optimize various steps of the process through internal product builds and/or external vendor relationships.
  • You'll Need to Have

    • 2-3 years professional experience in Accounting or Finance, or a Bachelor’s degree / relevant coursework in Accounting or Finance.
    • Understanding of financial concepts and how to read and interpret financial statements.
    • Experience using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
    • High degree of organization and discipline.
    • Strong, customer-centric communication skills.
    • Familiarity with credit bureaus (e.g. Experian, Equifax) and scoring models (e.g. FICO) preferred.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce.com a plus.
