Otis is looking for a Director of Accounting to oversee the accounting and key financial operations of the business, as well as drive operational performance. You will build a scalable accounting and finance function, and work cross-functionally to help ensure IPO and trading operations run smoothly. This position will bridge several teams, working closely with our CEO and General Counsel.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage accounting and finance, including bringing bookkeeping and reporting in-house.
  • Ensure that all accounting records are prepared and maintained in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Create new accounting and finance processes and guidelines, as needed.
  • Build out the accounting and finance team.
  • Work with other team leads to ensure IPO operations, trading finance, capital markets, tax, audit and regulatory operations happen smoothly.
  • Manage regulatory audit with General Counsel, including preparation of financial statements and overseeing external auditor relationship.
  • Evaluate and implement systems to improve the company’s financial operations and ensure compliance with regulations and best practices as we scale.
  • Provide guidance and strategic advice to the CEO and General Counsel around financials.

Who You Are

  • You have 6+ years of experience in accounting at high-growth tech startups, experience from top accountancy firm and CPA preferred.
  • You’re well versed in US GAAP concepts and principles and have high proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and financial/accounting software (preferably QBO for initial transition).
  • You take pride in your attention to detail, strategic judgment, operational excellence and analytical rigor.
  • You have the ability to take projects and run with oversight, but also execute on projects at a functional level across business units. 
  • You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments where everything is “the first time this has been done.” You are not afraid to roll your sleeves up where needed.
