ARK Capital Advisors, (“ARK”) is an affiliate of The We Company and serves as its new global real estate acquisition and management platform based in New York City. ARK’s focus is acquiring, developing, and managing select real estate assets in global gateway cities and high-growth secondary markets. ARK collaborates with The We Company to apply The We Company’s existing, new, and developing products and methods of community and space management to ARK owned real estate and leverage The We Company’s relationships with partners and enterprise member companies to create vibrant fully programmed ecosystems. ARK is currently seeking a finance professional with experience working on financial planning and analysis initiatives with private equity and other investment firms to join the company’s growing investment and asset management group. This professional will advise ARK on matters relating to development and implementation of business strategies for financial optimization in the context of ARK’s real estate investment and asset management strategies. In addition to these primary responsibilities, this finance professional will also be responsible for the following –
Actively participate in the forecasting process for headcount planning, annual revenue and expense budgeting, and short- and long-range business planning initiatives, including liquidity and capital-needs analyses
Develop and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual business results tracking, key performance indicators, and data trends, including monthly reporting on forecast-to-actual variances, and synthesize results to develop critical business insights
Collect, analyze, prepare, and advise on relevant data, information, and trends generated by the group’s investment activities, and create, manage, and support reports and dashboards to monitor the performance of the business
Develop, implement, and support annual and long-range strategic and financial planning processes and planning initiatives
Manage, oversee, and execute cash and liquidity management and cashflow forecasting processes, including in respect of capital calls and distributions
Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closing process though ownership of core models and templates, and work with accounting personnel to ensure entries are booked timely and accurately
Act as a central point of contact for all business partners with respect to headcount tracking and related expense analysis
Contribute to other financial planning and analysis projects and ad-hoc analysis for functional leaders and senior management as part of the group’s Finance Department
Required qualifications and experience –
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
4+ years of financial planning and analysis experience, preferably with a high-growth organization and preferably in the real estate investment and asset management sector
Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills, particularly in respect of data analysis and reporting
Deep knowledge and understanding of the real estate sector
Intimately familiar with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors in the real estate sector, and thorough understanding of key industry metrics used by those stakeholders
Service-oriented attitude characterized by strong listening skills and the desire to achieve shared success
Attention to detail and time and project-management skills
Preferred qualifications and experience –
Previous experience working with real estate private equity finance or accounting
Results-driven, user-centric, innovative, and comfortable in a highly complex and high-growth environment
