What you’ll do

DoubleVerify is looking for a Director of Technical Accounting and Policy who will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting policies and guidance in accordance with FASB requirements. Working with the SVP Finance and CFO, the Director of Technical Accounting will lead the assessment of complex technical accounting issues and implementation of new accounting standards at the Company.

This newly created position will work closely with the Controller, the Revenue Operations team and the Technical Operations team to establish an agile and high-performing in-house technical accounting function to meet the company’s objectives as it continues to grow and expand globally.

  • Provide operational and technical accounting expertise on all aspects of the company’s operations
  • Act as lead subject matter expert on all areas requiring technical accounting support
  • Responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the Company’s accounting policies and procedures, including non-US operations
  • Ensure the company's accounting is in compliance with U.S. GAAP, with a focus on recognizing revenue in accordance with ACS 606
  • Monitor and analyze the impact of potential new SEC and FASB developments in accounting standards on the Company’s financials and operations
  • Prepare and maintain technical accounting memorandums documenting conclusions and referencing the appropriate accounting literature
  • Assess the impact of significant transactions and ensures that transactions and events are properly disclosed in company financial statements
  • Coordinate with legal and human resources regarding the appropriate accounting for significant employment-related and share-based agreements
  • Work with external auditors and advisors to record and report company transactions
  • Ensure technical accounting and policy matters are accurately reported and disclosed in the company’s audited financial statements and other filings that arise as a result of debt and/or equity filings
  • Participate in the Company’s Audit Committee as needed
  • Prepare for month-end close stock-based compensation accounting, earnings per share and other equity accounting analyses, reconciliations and journal entries
  • Support the annual audit and activities with external auditors as needed

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution and CPA required
  • 8+ years accounting experience, including external reporting experience
  • Strong technical accounting background with thorough knowledge of US GAAP and Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, internal controls and financial reporting is required
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex technical information into digestible data for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to assimilate easily into teams
  • Strong intellectual horsepower and a quick study
  • Ability to discover root of a problem and implement fixes so the problem doesn't recur
  • Effective analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Comfortable with new concepts and complexity
  • Understanding of NetSuite ERP System
  • Experience in the advertising, technology and/or media industry preferred
