The D. E. Shaw group seeks talented and highly motivated individuals to join its Entrepreneur in Residence program within our DESCOvery effort. DESCOvery aims to build new non-asset management businesses for us, and the EIR will help us explore such opportunities, with a main focus on fintech, insurtech, and the data analytics spaces.

Participants in the program will join the firm as full-time employees for a period of approximately six months. During that time they will be responsible for proposing, researching, and preparing a plan for new business ideas. Promising ideas will move to the execution stage, backed by the firm, and the EIR will generally be expected to play a lead role in executing these ideas.

We are looking for candidates with a proven ability to generate, research, and lead ventures, and domain knowledge in our aforementioned focus areas. Successful candidates will be creative idea-generators with excellent critical thinking, analytical, execution, and communication skills. Candidates with strong team building and team work capabilities.
