The Role
Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will 1) ensure our critical financial processes are running securely at maximum efficiency and 2) oversee operating expenses via effective budget allocation and vendor management.
What You’ll Do:
Accounting (40-50%)
- Supervise all accounting operations (client invoicing, A/R, A/P, accruals etc.) to enforce timely completion of month-end close
- Onboard new clients and partners,including documentation of relevant entity and tax information as well as conduct credit analysis on a case by case basis
- Actively participate in the annual audit and liaise with external auditors to resolve issues
- Lead one direct report
Budget Management (30-40%)
- Create monthly departmental budgets and track actuals against budget, providing context and variance explanations to department heads
- Develop detailed OPEX forecasts to be used in the company’s overall financial model for executive decision-making
- Review and approve vendor bills and expense reports to verify accuracy and compliance with company policies
Procurement (10-20%)
- Own vendor relationships and communication as the primary Finance point of contact
- Maintain full purchase-to-payment process (vendor selection, contract negotiation, formal approval, payment setup)
- Conduct periodic review of vendors to rationalize spend; keep track of upcoming contract renewals and prepare for renegotiations
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of corporate accounting/controllership experience; public accounting experience is valued but not required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred but not required
- Strong process-orientation, able to uncover gaps and develop appropriate solutions
- Extremely organized and attentive to detail
- Substantial expertise in corporate accounting best practices
- Self-starter who responds quickly to requests and juggles multiple tasks
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Quickbooks, Bill.com or other cloud-based software
- Maturity to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information
Would Be Awesome:
- Working knowledge of pay-per-click advertising or digital advertising in general
- Experience in high-growth operating environments
- Experience in B2B technology, sales and services-driven companies
