CARMERA is looking for a Finance Manager who will work across both accounting and FP&A, reporting directly to our Head of Finance & Operations (FinOps) and will interact frequently with the executive team. The ideal candidate is well organized, has strong attention to detail, and can thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This individual should be a self-starter, comfortable with owning projects from start to finish and proactively providing insights to management. This candidate will be able to fully own many aspects of the finance function, as the only fully finance focused person on the FinOps team.
Role:
Accounting
Direct and oversee all of accounting, including all A/P and A/R activity, proposing ways to optimize processes where possible
Manage cash flow reporting, including future projections, and runway analysis
Review and complete vendor forms, helping in negotiations where relevant
Manage expense reimbursement and policy creation
Work with People Operations on payroll management, including payroll administration and compensation strategy
Manage external accountants for audit and tax
Fully own a timely and accurate monthly close processes, including but not limited to analysis and reconciliation of P&L and Balance Sheet accounts
Identify opportunities and implement systems improvements
Own compliance and reporting for local, state, and federal government requirements, such as the START-UP NY tax incentive program, and seek out any other such programs we should consider
FP&A
Act as thought partner to Head of Finance & Operations, providing recommendations for company’s financial strategy and capital allocation decisions
Advise Ops team on spend decisions based on frameworks jointly created alongside Head of Finance & Operations
Collaborate with department and team heads on strategic decisions that have revenue and / or cost implications, including customer pricing etc.
Assist in creating the annual budget, and maintaining forecasting model, overlaying scenario analysis where relevant
Assist in maintaining company financial and expense policies, recommending processes for improved financial controls
Evaluate large vendor contracts and assist in negotiations
- Assist in creating investor & Board of Director presentations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a CPA strongly preferred
At least 5-8 years of related experience (ideally in tech)
Audit experience preferred
Understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
Ability to work cross-functionally to achieve desired company results
Proficient in QuickBooks (and / or Xero), Microsoft Excel (including vlookups and pivot tables), Word and PowerPoint
