CommonBond is seeking a Financial Analyst who will be responsible for working on critical aspects of the company's financial and operational infrastructure including: (1) managing day-to-day funding and reporting responsibilities, involving extensive interaction with the Company’s credit providers; (2) helping to execute and manage reporting for the Company’s whole loan sale and securitization program existing and new loan sale buyers; (3) supporting on Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) workstreams (including ad hoc analyses and preparation of Board materials). 

The candidate will need to work collaboratively with internal teams as well as our partner financial institutions. In addition, individual will have extensive interaction with Company’s senior management. This role reports into the Director of Finance.

Functions

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Handle day to day funding functions including delivery of loan tapes
  • Prepare and reconcile collateral, financial, and servicer reporting
  • Collaborate across departments to support financial infrastructure
  • Liaise with banking institutions and third-party vendors when appropriate
  • Other ad hoc projects and reporting, as necessary
  • FP&A activities including supporting preparation of Board materials & ad hoc financial analyses

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience in asset backed securities and/or banking operations a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong data analysis and data querying sills within the financial services or lending industry required
  • Expertise in data mapping, building queries, data extraction, manipulation and conversion, as well as experience working in data warehouses or databases
  • Report design and development skills including expertise in Microsoft Excel required and experience using SQL and data analysis tools a plus
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Business focus in Accounting or Finance preferred, but not required
  • 2-4 years of professional work experience

You can work in our New York City HQ; or remotely from anywhere in the US (as long as you work east coast hours). As a heads up, due to the on-going pandemic of COVID-19, if you choose to work from our NYC HQ, it is likely that you’ll start working remotely.
