Job Description

Today, more than 1,800 institutional investors and broker-dealer firms rely on MarketAxess to bring them accurate market data to assist with their trading decisions, connectivity solutions that facilitate straight-through processing, and technology services to optimize trading environments.
The Financial Audit Associate will be an integral member of the Internal Audit team that will be responsible for conducting Internal Audits complying with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) as well Internal Audits scheduled on the Internal Audit Plan. The role will be based in New York and will report into the US Internal Audit Manager with overall department guidance from the Chief Audit Executive.
What You’ll Do
- Perform functions related to SOX compliance – perform walkthroughs, maintain flow charts, narratives, complete and document detailed testing results, communicate findings and recommendations to control owners, and develop relationships with key control owners
- Perform audits scheduled on the global internal audit plan – assist in all aspects of the audit including planning, fieldwork, and reporting
- Prepare high quality workpapers and findings in line with PCAOB and IIA standards
- Monitor and follow-up on findings and remediation efforts related to SOX and internal audits
- Proactively take on additional tasks or projects where needed
- Enthusiastic team player, supporting colleagues to achieve team objectives
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience in financial audit, within a public accounting, internal audit, or consulting environment with demonstrable knowledge of SOX, and ability to perform risk assessments
- Experience working within financial services
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management throughout the Company
- Ability and interest in learning the Company’s business and understanding the markets in which it operates
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Self-starter, ability to effectively prioritize while working on multiple assignments simultaneously
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team
- Team-oriented with strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship management skills
- Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail
- Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to foster relationships with all levels of Management throughout the Company globally
- Ability to take initiative and implement process improvements
- Excellent organizational and excel skills
- Preferred Skills/Experience
- Professional Certification (CPA, CIA, or CFE)
- Exposure to capital markets through education and job experience
- Data analytics and automation skills
