The Role:

The FP&A Analyst will work with our Manager of FP&A to maintain and augment Newsela’s core financial model, lead Newsela’s annual budgeting process, and manage ongoing monthly & quarterly reforecasts. Collaborating across the company, you will be relied upon to provide strategic support to senior leadership to ensure smart business decisions and efficient capital allocation. This role will be critical in analyzing trends in existing KPIs to provide forward-looking insights, and continuously iterate to improve our reporting and analytics. You will develop financial models and analyses to determine ROIs for new products/market strategies and business development opportunities. Additionally, you will assist in preparing materials including board decks, investor presentations, and other executive updates.

You have 2-5+ years experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, financial strategy/operations, or a closely related field. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you may wear multiple hats as a financial model guru, internal consultant, and business strategist. You’re experienced in financial modeling with strong ability to identify key model drivers and build 3-statement financial models, as well as operational models to forecast the future with accuracy. You are driven by metrics, and strive to partner across the organization to help add value to the business wherever possible. You are a trusted advisor with exceptional communication skills, with a proven ability to model out scenarios to support leaders in key business decisions. You have a track record of maintaining and improving business processes, as well as building and implementing new processes from scratch when necessary.
