FP&A Analyst
About Your Role:
The finance team is seeking a hands-on and self-starting Financial Analyst to develop and manage existing financial models, provide variance analysis and KPI monitoring, and conduct in-depth financial analysis which will be used to support decision making for all facets of the business.
The ideal candidate is someone who loves numbers, is highly motivated, has strong attention to detail and works well both independently and in a team. You should be comfortable interfacing with the executive management team and presenting complex financial information in a clear and concise way. This role reports to the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis.
About Your Contributions:
- Support Dotdash's financials and reporting process including working with the accounting team on month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes
- Daily monitoring and analyzing of business performance, identifying potential impacts to margins and identifying risks weaknesses or strengths early in the month to help in re-forecasting
- Complex modeling of various financial models
- Financial planning including annual operating plan and monthly forecast updates with focus on traffic, monetization, revenue, expenses, and headcount.
- Monthly and quarterly reporting packages including P&L's, revenue dashboards, and other key deliverables to IAC
- Variance analysis comparing financial results, key metrics, and traffic to plan and prior period.
- Data retrieval, input and maintenance for multiple finance files.
- Monitor and develop methodologies for analyzing business KPIs to inform business decisions with thoughtful analysis.
- Deliver clear verbal and written explanations of analyses to senior management that translate findings into strategic recommendations.
About You:
- Financial planning experience, including Reporting, Financial Analysis, Accounting or related fields. Prior experience with online advertising, media, and/or e-commerce is a plus.
- Experience providing decision support to senior management
- Demonstrated forecasting skills and ability to model business drivers through to a full income statement
- Expert in Excel and proficient in Word and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable managing meetings and interfacing with executive management team
- Hyperion Essbase and Oracle Discoverer helpful
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or economics
