Description:

We’re looking to add a highly motivated, detail-oriented FP&A Analyst to join our Finance and Analytics team. In this key role you’ll own tracking and analysis of our multi-million dollar annual marketing budget, monitoring acquisition performance closely to ensure that we hit our growth targets at an efficient cost of customer acquisition. You’ll also be responsible for ongoing evaluation of the ROI of our investments across our portfolio of marketing channels and for creating detailed forecasting and reporting processes to track actuals to budget. Finally, this role is responsible for ownership of our operating expenses budget; you’ll work closely with stakeholders across all teams at ClassPass to evaluate our historical spend, identify opportunities for efficiencies and come up with team budgets.

Our ideal candidate is a self-driven go-getter with the judgment to prioritize tasks based on business impact and who can get work done efficiently and quickly without sacrificing accuracy. In this role you’ll primarily be working in Excel, Looker (our Business Intelligence tool), and SQL. As our team has significant analytical responsibilities across both what we call the “back-end” (data architecture and operations) and the “front-end” (hypothesis-driven analytics to answer business questions), you’ll get the opportunity to develop skills across a broad range of functional areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Own key components of our FP&A practice including Marketing and Operating expenses
  • Lead analysis to evaluate ROI of marketing spend using metrics like CPA, CAC, LTV, and others
  • Track marketing channel performance monthly and create forward-looking financial forecasts and plans
  • Work with business owners to create operating budgets, manage spend, and deliver insights to spend more efficiently
  • Conduct analyses to understand recent financial and customer trends
  • Drive ad-hoc financial analyses to inform potential promotion changes, new product features, or other upcoming business decisions
  • Define and implement processes and tools to better manage spend and derive insights
  • Work with other ClassPass teams to understand their data and define KPIs/goals; build dashboards and other tracking mechanisms to monitor performance against those goals

 Requirements:

  • 2 years experience in management consulting, investment banking, PE/VC, or in an analytics, data architecture, marketing analyst, or financial planning role at a tech / fitness company; experience with a rapidly scaling business is a plus
  • Strong quantitative skills (as evidenced either by college coursework or prior job experience in a quantitative field)
  • Advanced Excel and data modeling skills plus some familiarity with SQL; experience with Looker and/or Google Analytics is a plus
  • Familiarity with consumer-facing subscription business models and key marketing KPIs that drive customer acquisition costs (e.g., CAC, CPA, etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill detailed analysis into simple, structured frameworks that can be easily understood and digested cross-functionally
  • Comfort with ambiguity, uncertainty, and a rapidly evolving business landscape
  • Strong attention to detail with high personal standards for accuracy and quality of work
  • Motivated, proactive and curious disposition, with a natural tendency toward investigating information that seems interesting or anomalous
